Meryl Wins Swiss Alps 100 km
After a more difficult year with health complications, Meryl returned to the international trail running with a fantastic win at the Swiss Alps 100 km, placing seventh overall.
For her return to long-distance international racing, Meryl picked the Swiss Alps 100 km in the stunning Swiss Alps. A technical course with 5950 m of elevation gain, it was made even more difficult by hot weather conditions in early August.
Meryl took full advantage of nutrition and cooling advice and techniques, starting off at a measured pace and using ice to stay cool on the climbs. She moved steadily through the field, eventually taking the lead and growing a strong buffer to second place.
It was fantastic to see Meryl cross the finish line in 15:35:47 with a huge smile on her face. A well deserved victory and brilliant perfomance!
